My Cousin's Wedding

Friday October, 16th, I went with my parents on a week trip. The first stop was Denver airport to pick up my brother Darryl and my niece Alice. Then we headed down to Pueblo for my cousin Sarah's wedding.
This is me holding my cousin Jessie's daughter, Reese and my niece, Alice at the wedding site in the morning as we were setting up. Alice was so cute, she wanted Reese to follow her wherever she went.

Snow

Yes, you read the title right. It snowed here on Tuesday and there is still a little left in our front yard. I took these pictures when the sun came out on Tuesday and the snow had already melted off the trees and signs, but is still pretty. The girls were so excited to play in the snow. That day I went to the girls school to volunteer. While I was there for three hours it snowed more, so I came out to a car covered with snow. It looked like it had snowed all night in Springfield, Oregon. The drivers side was even covered; I had to swim in snow for the handle.

I Feel Appreciated...

Along with cards and gifts scattered throughout the month, today our church showed us how much they appreciate us, as it is Pastor Appreciation Month. I feel very appreciated. There are blessing behind each card and gift, but here are some examples of God blessing us through the gestures of others.

I have been trying to decide if I should spend the money to buy a rug I have picked out for our bathroom at Bed, Bath and Beyond. Throwing a wet towel or a dirty shirt has been efficient for when we get out of the shower, but would like to have something permanent to protect our feet from the cold tile floor. One of our gift cards was for Bed, Bath and Beyond; I get my rug (smile).

There is a restaurant that Chris and I have been wanting to try called Sweet Home Chicago Pizza and Pastaria (we have walked by several times smelling the delicious smells escaping from the opened door). Now how in the world would any body know that. Yes, got a gift card.

Chris and my anniversary is coming up and we now have a gift card to go have a nice dinner at the Cheesecake Factory.

Okay, I am going to stop there, I would be up all night sharing the blessing behind each word, card and gift of appreciation we have received.

Ever since we have been here we have been blessed by our church family at Sonrise from clothes, food, gifts, words of encouragement, notes, the list goes on. Thank you!

"From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another."

Madi's Last Soccer Game

Madi had a great first soccer season. Her team tied one, lost one and won six. She made new friends that she gets to see at school. We had the Hinkle's, Papa (Glenn), Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Rusty come and cheer her on. My family got to see her make-up game which is pictured below. It was cold and as you can see it got dark.

Madi giving her coach a high five as she was coming off the field.

Madi's classmate and friend was her opponent for her last game. Good thing he played goalie most of the game, because she got distracted while he was on the field.

Although it was cold, Madi was so excited to get her trophy after the game.

Happy Birthday Emma

Two Tuesdays ago, Emma turned nine; yes, I said nine. My parents were on their way through to go to my cousin's wedding, so they came a few days early to help us celebrate this beautiful young lady's birthday. It was nice to have family around to celebrate. Next week she is going to take a friend with us to the zoo. I gave her ideas, like skating, but she wanted to go to the zoo, which is fine with me, because it's free for us do to our year pass.

Crazy Busy

I just have to say it has been crazy busy. I have had two youth events at our house, helped prepare for my church's women's retreat and my parents coming. Then went to the women's retreat and now visiting with my parents, not to mention all the other day to day activities. It has been good, but busy. For a whole week, I didn't even touch my computer. Tomorrow I am leaving with my parents to go to my cousin's wedding in Colorado and then off to Arizona to visit more family. I will be gone for a week. I am excited, but will miss my husband and girls.

Chris' Cast Is Off

Believe it or not it has been 10 days since Chris had his second cast put on. At his appointment today, he had the last two pins removed and a removable cast put on. He said these two pins hurt more to take out then the other one, especially the one that burned as the doctor twisted it out. Everything looks good, though. He is on an antibiotic to make sure he doesn't get an infection.
Since I was unable to go to the doctors visit, Chris had the doctor write a prescription for proof that he can play video games and guitar. The doctor even put a smiley face on it. Chris has to keep the brace on most of the time, but can take it off, apparently to play video games and guitar (smile). His next appointment is in two weeks.
