Madi got a 19 out of 20 questions correct!

Emma got 19 out of 20 questions right!

Madi's team won 1st Place of 8 teams competing in Discovery Book 1.

Emma's team won 1st out of 3 teams competing in Challenge Book 1.

Great job girls!  We are so proud of your hard work memorizing scripture and learning what it means.  

Forgiveness

Sewing Class

Emma and I joined a co-op this quarter and are having a good time.  Emma has always enjoyed sewing with her Grammy and is getting more practice in as she has made two things so far in her sewing class.

Emma made a wrist pin cushion and a sewing needle book.  I am proud of her hard work, determination and patience with the sewing machine.  Her next project will be a bag.  

An Awesome Thing

For AWANA (a Bible Club), Emma had to write a paper as if she was reporting news of an event in the Bible.  I thought I would type it out:

An Awesome Thing
Reporter:  Emma Lane

Emma Lane here in Rome were I just talked to a jailer who has an amazing story.  From Acts 16.  So sir what did you see?
Jailer:  I was sleeping and had a dream.  But it wasn't a dream it was real, in Acts 16:29-31 it reads:  The jailer called for light rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas then he brought them out and asked  "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"  They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved - you and your house hold."
  I then brought them to my house and wash their wounds and fed them.  I almost forgot to tell you, I almost killed myself because I had seen that all the prisoners were gone.  But Paul saved me and said, "Don't harm yourself we are all here."  I was so amazed I rejoiced and got saved that night.  Jesus loves you and wants you to know him, so I say to you, believe on the Lord and you will be saved.
Emma:  Wow!  That's an awesome story.  I'm Emma Lane, live in Rome.

We knocked this wall out to extend the room and used the space under the stairs for the closet.

The before picture of the family room is the wall/window to the left.  Also the door is just sitting next to the doorway as we have not put it on yet.

Up Close Basement Destruction

Before I show before/after pictures of our basement, I wanted to share a few pictures of up close destruction.  Not only did the renter rip out the electrical work downstairs, he went up inside the wall and cut the wires.  The upstairs cables and phone wires were also cut.  The bathroom was the only room they didn't rip out the electrical, but the toilet was taken out and there was no vanity.  Like the main floor, the flooring was ripped out except for the stairs.
